Cookies
Three cookies, all of them doing a job you would notice if it stopped. That is also why there is no banner asking for permission: none of them needs it.

The three cookies
| Name | What it does | Set when | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| ss_session | Keeps you signed in to your account. It holds a token and nothing else, and scripts on the page cannot read it. | You sign in | 30 days |
| ss_locale | Remembers whether you were reading English or Dutch, so the next visit opens in the same language. | You open a page or switch language | 1 year |
| ss_account | Holds the value 1 so the header can say Account instead of Sign in. It contains no token and grants no access. | You sign in | 30 days |
What we do not use
- No analytics cookies. Visits are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies; the privacy page lists what it records.
- No advertising or retargeting cookies, and no pixels from social networks.
- No fonts or scripts from other companies' servers: the fonts and the counting script are served from this site, so your browser makes no request to another company while reading this page.
- No cookies at all in the desktop app. It is not a browser and does not have any.
How to remove them
- Signing out removes ss_session and ss_account immediately.
- Any browser can clear cookies for a single site: look for Privacy, then site data or cookies, and search for this site.
- Blocking them entirely also works. Signing in stops working, but every page you can read without an account keeps working.
