Speakybara talks to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech with a key you create yourself: a project, the Text-to-Speech API, a key, billing details. About 15 minutes of clicking. Google's free tier counts per billing account, so with your own key it is yours alone, and most personal use stays inside it.
Managed sells the setup, not the capacity.

What Managed includes each month
Two numbers, both per calendar month, both visible in the app while you listen.

About 133 A4 pages through the Managed service. That is the fair-use total across both Google voice families.
The first 60,000 on Chirp 3 HD
About 20 pages on Google's best voice, roughly a page per working day. After that Speakybara continues on WaveNet at the next sentence boundary for the rest of the month. One quiet notice in the read-along window; nothing stops.
Sentences you replay are free
A sentence you play again comes from the cache and is not sent to Google a second time. Only characters that actually leave your PC count, spaces and line breaks included.
Above the total, Managed pauses
It waits until the 1st of the next month. The app keeps working with the free Edge and Piper voices, and the meter in Settings shows where you are.

The price you see is the price you pay. The invoice shows the net amount, the VAT and our VAT number.
14 days to change your mind
You can withdraw within 14 days of ordering, without giving a reason. Mail support@speakybara.app and you get the full amount back, even if you already used the Managed voices.
Cancel anytime
Managed runs to the end of the period you paid for. After that the app keeps working with the free Piper and Edge voices; nothing is taken away.
Renews automatically, with a reminder
We email you 30 days before each renewal, so a charge never arrives unannounced. One click in your account turns renewal off.

The setup, not the software. Managed is the same app with Google's voices already arranged, so there is no Google Cloud project, no API key and no billing to organise. Every feature in Managed is in the free version too.
Yes. Buy Managed, paste the licence key in Settings › Speakybara Managed, and the app stops using your own key from the next sentence. Your own key stays in the settings, so you can switch back whenever you want.
After 60,000 characters in a calendar month, Speakybara continues on Google WaveNet at the next sentence boundary. WaveNet exists for Dutch and English, so nothing stops and nothing changes in how you work. The read-along window says so once, and the meter in Settings shows where you are.
At 400,000 characters a month, about 133 pages, Managed pauses until the 1st of the next month. The app keeps reading with the free Edge and Piper voices, so you are never left without speech.
The Google voices through Managed stop. Everything else stays: the hotkey, the clipboard, the read-along window, the language detection, Piper, the Edge voices and your own Google key if you have one. The app is free, so it keeps working.
Up to 3 devices you use yourself at the same time, for example a desktop, a laptop and a work PC. You can free a slot from your account when a machine goes away. The free app itself has no limit at all.
Yes. Every payment produces an invoice with the net amount, 21% VAT and our VAT number, and it stays in your account under Billing.
Yes. The invoice can be made out to your employer and carries a VAT number, so it can be booked. In the Netherlands a read-aloud tool counts as an aid for reading at work, so it is worth asking whether your employer or UWV covers it.
